    Best Time To Visit:

    Andaman and Nicobar Island is an all-season paradise. However, it is best to visit the island between October and May, when the underwater visibility is at its clearest. If you love turtles, manta rays, and stonefish, then December and January are definitely the best times to spot them. If you are lucky, you can also see turtles nesting as well during these months.

    Age Restrictions:

    The age limitation for any diving scuba diving courses in Andaman is strictly 10 years and above. However, there is no upper limit.

    Health Requirements:

    Even though there are no major restrictions, it is important to carry medical clearance in case of major ailments like heart disease, respiratory conditions, or ear damage.

    Swimming Ability:

    Swimming is not a mandated necessity for scuba diving at Havelock Island. However, divers are taught all the basic water skills and signs before entering the dive site.

    Scuba Training:

    Time: It is mandatory to undergo training before any dive. Govind Nagar Beach, rightly known as one of the most stunning and cleanest beaches in Asia, is also where scuba enthusiasts are schooled. The training lasts anywhere between 10- 15 minutes and includes briefing, signs to be used, and underwater breathing techniques using scuba gears.

    Depending on the package selected, the dive can last anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes per session.

    Max. Depth Allowed:

    Nemo Reef

    When to Go Scuba Diving in Havelock?

    October to May :

    The water temperature lies between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius, and there is minimal wind interference, making it perfectly calm and clear to snorkel, swim, or scuba dive.

    June to September :

    Due to the monsoon, the temperature falls to 24 degrees. The constant rainfall and strong winds hinder the safety and visibility of the crew and divers alike. Hence, any water activities are avoided during these months.

The entire process, from training to completion of the dive, lasts anywhere between 30-45 minutes.

    Boat Diving in Havelock: Explore Remote Dive Sites

    Boat diving is perfect for those remote dive sites, generally located far from the shore, away in isolation. From stingrays, dolphins, and sharks to shipwrecks, coral beds, and underwater canyons, these dives last 3 to 4 hrs.

    The same training procedures as those for DSD are carried out before boating to the isolated dive location. Sites like Barracuda City and Seduction Point are popular among boat divers for their rich biodiversity and captivating underwater terrain.

    Scuba Diving Process from Shore to Sea

    • Shore and Boat diving at Havelock starts at 5.30 AM and ends at 11 AM.
    • You can book a cab to the training centre from anywhere in Havelock.
    • Once you reach, you will have to complete a self-health medical declaration form and provide the additional required documentation if necessary.
    • All divers are required to change into specific scuba attire as provided by the centre. All personal items and clothings can be safely kept at the individual lockers provided at the diving centre office.
    • Training is conducted at Govind Nagar Beach or another shallow water site. It lasts anywhere between 15 to 20 min.
    • Divers are briefed about breathing technique, hand signals, scuba gears and operation of the breathing mouth piece and oxygen tank.
    • Every diver is required to take an orientation underwater dive of 3 minutes in shallow water before being allowed to dive in open waters. This ensures that divers are confident and completely in sync with mouth breathing technique using scuba gears.
    • Even though scuba diving is done barefoot, in some cases you may need to wear fins for better underwater movement.
