Must Know for Scuba Divers
When should you go scuba diving on Neil Island?
October to May :
The water temperature lies between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius, and minimal wind interference makes it perfectly calm and clear to snorkel, swim, or scuba dive at Neil Island.
June to September :
During the monsoon period, water activities are suspended as safety becomes a primary concern. The temperature drops to 24 degrees, while heavy precipitation averages around 450 mm.
The combination of persistent rainfall and powerful winds creates challenging conditions in the turbulent waters, significantly impacting both crew operations and diver visibility. Sunshine is limited during this season, with only 8-10 clear days receiving an average of 3.5 hours of sunlight, making it necessary to avoid aquatic activities during these months.

Boat Diving in Neil Island – Non-Swimmers Can Do
Boat diving in Neil Island offers a unique opportunity for both experienced divers and non-swimmers to explore the vibrant underwater world. Unlike shore diving, where divers walk up to the deep water from the beach, boat diving allows individuals to enter the water directly from the boat, making it more thrilling experience for adventure seekers and they can get access to more dive spots in deep waters.
For the first time divers, a short training session is held at shallow water as per Discover Scuba Diving programm of PADI or Try Scuba of SSI. The divers learn about safety protocols and the equipment they’ll be using. This is followed by a smooth transition into the ocean waters, where the magic unfolds.
